I have to say,
the first two diapers
in the morning
are my favorite moments
of my day! *

I didn’t mean to take off almost a month from the blog, but so much is happening at once that by the time I sit down in front of the TV I’ve already fallen asleep. So, a long list of everything that has happened...

I started working at MacPac, a computer store on 122nd & Sandy. I’m their new Microsoft Certified Instructor, and I’m teaching free & paid classes a few days a week. Get the Max From Your Mac! I can set my own hours - perfect!

My mom & dad came to visit (Bub-baNana & Pop-Pop) for 10 days. My Dad rode Cycle Oregon - we’re so proud of him! It was a bit of a confront for him, because he didn’t have any camping experience, but they set up a tent for him, rode him so hard and fed him so well that sleep was NOT an issue. He came home grinning from ear to ear.

So, the next day we took him to walk the CornMaize!

And as for Zayha, I can’t believe how far he’s come since my last blog entry.  The milestones are still in my head, though I don’t know what the dates were. Some are developmental milestones; others are memories I don’t want to forget:

  1. One day, overnight, he became room- and people-conscious. He could look around the room, see who was in it.

  1. Successfully grabbed the hanging toys on his panda dome for the first time. Two weeks later (two days ago), he was pulling on it with both hands!

  1. More about the panda: As you can see in the picture to the right, we’ve covered the panda with towels so that ZIP can pee and barf to his heart’s content (you can see one black-and-white striped ear). One day we took it off - he’d never seen the panda, or the colors under him before!! Nana said he worked his way 360 degrees around the circle, looking at everything. I would have loved to see that.

  1. Sat on Nana’s lap and read books.

  1. Grabs my hair to keep himself steady. I feel like a mama ape.

  1. Rolled over. One day he did it four times, though he’s only done it a couple times since.

  1. Skootching. When he’s laying on his stomach, he’ll pull his knees up under him. Sometimes it moves him unexpectedly forward. Occasionally we walk in his room and his head is stuck up against the wall of the crib.

  1.  Growing out of clothes! Most of his 0-3 outfits can’t be worn anymore. Already! He’s right on clothing schedule, but it’s just weird to try to put on his warm terry footie sleeper and not be able to. I put the blue horsey on him, and he couldn’t straighten out his legs!

*The ABSOLUTE BEST is that when he’s on the changing table, he looks up at us and smiles and grins and coos and gurgles and blows bubbles and waves his arms around and makes happy baby sounds. Since I like to take a few minutes and let his bottom dry before putting on his new diaper, we get a good 5-10 minutes of kissing and smiling and singing and gurgling and nuzzling together.

Down to the riverfront to see Big Island Shindig play at the Hempfest.

Check out Zayha’s first shades, which he wore without complaint, and his tye-dye

Tons of people were cuted out!

A Month of Firsts
